Start Your Repair

  1. Fill out the intake form here

  2. Drop off or mail in your item

    • Local drop-off: Volta (drop box), Southwest Cycle (at the counter), Alpenglow Bar Harbor (drop box), or the Golden Hour Workshop (oversized items, by appointment only)

    • Mail in: choose this option on the intake form and we’ll reach out to start the process. Whenever possible, we’ll assess photos of your requested repair or modification and offer a quote before you mail your item. Please send all photos to info@goldenhourgearrepair.com

  3. We’ll email you an estimate to approve

  4. Once you approve your estimate, you’ll receive an emailed invoice with a payment link

  5. We start sewing!

  6. Pick up your repaired item at Volta, Southwest Cycle, or Alpenglow, or have it mailed to your house.

  7. Get back to adventuring!

  • We offer repairs by mail, and can also mail your item home if you drop it off while on a trip to Acadia. Customers are responsible for shipping charges, but we’re able to provide shipping labels at lower rates than retail. Roundtrip shipping ranges $15-35 for most items, depending on size and distance. Your estimated shipping cost will be included with your quote.

  • All work is custom, but in general:

    • Zipper sliders* - $25

      *usually the cause of a zipper that won’t stay zipped, or is stuck

    • Full zipper replacement (jacket) - $105+

    • Full zipper replacement with seam tape (waterproof jacket) - $125+

    • Pocket zipper replacement - $65+

    • Sewn patch - $45+

    • Sewn and waterproof (seam taped) patch - $75+

    Before any repair work is done, you’ll receive an estimate to approve for your specific project.

  • We don’t have standard open hours at the Golden Hour workshop, so we recommend dropping off and picking up through our partners at Volta, Southwest Cycle, and Alpenglow.
